On Dec. 9, Syracuse University and SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry will hold the final Peace Corps information session for the Fall 2004 semester. The session will take place in the Moon Library on the ESF campus from 5-6 p.m.
Peace Corps Volunteers serve in over 70 countries in Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, Central and South America, Europe and the Middle East in programs including education, youth and community development, health, agriculture, environment, business development and information technology.
Service consists of three months of in-country training and two years of volunteer work. Benefits include round-trip travel, housing, living stipend, health insurance, intensive language, culture and technical training, vacation time, a payment of more than $6000 upon completion of assignment and the experience of a lifetime. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old, in good health and U.S. citizens.
