The Chancellor's Search Committee held its third meeting Oct. 16. Board of Trustees Chair Joe Lampe, chair of the search committee, announced that of the 51 individuals who had applied or were nominated, 22 agreed to be considered. Of those recruited by Korn Ferry International (KFI), consultant for the search, five agreed to be considered, bringing the total candidate pool to 27.
Following a review of the candidates, the search committee selected 10 (the five candidates recruited by KFI along with five of the 22 nominees/applicants) for interviews. Those candidates are diverse with regard to ethnicity, gender and experience. Interviews will be conducted off campus and will be completed by Dec. 15.
At the conclusion of the interviews, the committee will recommend up to four finalists to the Board of Trustees, thus completing its participation in the search process.
"Because of confidentiality concerns on the part of the candidates, members of the campus community will not have an opportunity to meet the finalists," says Lampe. "The search committee was designed to be representative of the University community and will act in the best interests of the community in selecting the final pool to recommend to the Board."
The Board of Trustees is expected to make its selection in April.
