The 2005 Syracuse International Film and Video Festival (SIFVF) launches its prescreening sessions Nov. 4 at the Lucky Moon Cafe, located at 719 E. Genesee St. in Syracuse. SIFVF Director Owen Shapiro and prescreening coordinator Norm Keim will explain the prescreening process to approximately 35 community members who will watch would-be entries and discuss their fates - in or out, yes or no.
Seats are still available for the event, which will begin at 7 pm. Reservations can be made by calling (315) 443-2247. The Lucky Moon Cafe menu of sandwiches, desserts and gourmet coffees will be available from 7-9 pm.
Other prescreening evenings are planned for the Westcott Community Center on Nov. 15; LeMoyne College on Nov. 18; and The Community Folk Art Gallery (2223 E. Genesee Street) on Dec. 2. Screenings at all locations will begin at 7 p.m.
Prescreening events are sponsored by Point of Contact, a nonprofit organization of the verbal and visual arts and by SIFVF.
