Syracuse University's Brahms Festival will continue March 4 at 8 p.m. with performances by classical guitarist Ken Meyer, vocalists Julianna Sabol and John-Scott Moir, the Degas String Quartet and pianist Ida Trebicka. The concert, part of the Setnor Tuesday Concert Series, will be held in the Rose and Jules R. Setnor Auditorium in the University's Crouse College and is free and open to the public.
The concert will open with Meyer and soprano Sabol performing selected songs by Brahms. Bass-baritone Moir will perform "Four Serious Songs, op. 121" accompanied by Trebicka. The Degas Quartet, SU's graduate quartet-in-residence, will perform "String Quartet in C minor, op. 51 no.1." Meyer, Sabol, Moir and Trebicka are faculty members in the Rose, Jules R. and Stanford S. Setnor School of Music in the College of Visual and Performing Arts.
The Brahms Festival is a year-long celebration of the works of Johannes Brahms through concerts, classes and seminars co-presented by the Setnor School of Music; the New York City-based Cassatt Quartet, SU's quartet-in-residence; and the Department of Fine Arts in The College of Arts and Sciences.
