On Oct. 29, Syracuse University's Students Advancing Sexual Safety and Empowerment (SASSE) will launch its new publication, The Coffee House Journals. The launch will take place in the Noble Room of Hendricks Chapel from 8-10 p.m. The launch, which is free and open to the public, will include open discussions of several women's issues. Copies of The Coffee House Journals will also be available.
"The Coffee House Journals address real issues for campus women that aren't talked about because of taboos that exist regarding feminist ideas," says Jess Larsen, a senior majoring in public relations and sociology and the director of SASSE. "We hope to redefine feminism to make it more relevant and accessible to today's young woman."
Publication of The Coffee House Journals is sponsored by the Student Association. SASSE is a student organization that promotes sexual safety, reproductive rights and women's issues on campus. For more information, visit http://www.thecoffeehousejournals.com or contact sassesyracuse@yahoo.com.
