Sernett to lecture Oct. 19 on Harriet Tubman

Milton Sernett, professor of African American studies and history and adjunct professor of religion in The College of Arts and Sciences at Syracuse University, will lecture on "Harriet Tubman and the American Memory" Oct. 19 at 2 p.m. in the Onondaga Historical Association Museum auditorium, 321 Montgomery St. The lecture is part of a series on the Underground Railroad, supplementing the association's exhibit "Freedom Bound: The Story of Syracuse and the Underground Railroad."

The lecture series is sponsored by the Onondaga Historical Association and the African American Studies Department. All lectures are free and open to the public.
