Syracuse University's Morton Schiff Jazz Ensemble will perform Oct. 21 at 8 p.m. in the Rose and Jules R. Setnor Auditorium, located in Crouse College. The Ensemble will appear under the direction of Joseph Riposo, affiliate artist, and John Coggiola, assistant professor in the Rose, Jules R. and Sanford S. Setnor School of Music. The concert is free and open to the public.
The Ensemble will feature the Frank Puzzullo Trio on "Song For My Brother" and "Leave it to 'Pops,'" all composed and arranged by Riposo, as well as "Subconscious Lee," composed by Lennie Tristano and arranged by Riposo. Puzzullo is a jazz pianist at Ball State University. He has performed with Sal Nestico, Chuck Mangione, James Moody, Dizzy Gillespie, Art Pepper and Charles McPherson, among others. He has recorded with Ray Brown and Pete Fountain.
The jazz program at SU is supported by a contribution in memory of Morton Schiff '53. Parking is available at Irving Garage.
