The Jewish Student Union at Syracuse University, in association with the S.I Newhouse School of Public Communications, is proud to host ESPN anchor Linda Cohn as its Fall 2002 major speaker. The event will be held Tuesday, Oct. 15, at 7:30 p.m. in the Schine Student Center's Goldstein Auditorium. The event is open to the University and Syracuse communities.

Cohn began her career in sportscasting as a news anchor, writer and sports reporter in 1981. Since then she has climbed the ladder of success as one of the few women in this male-dominated career. Cohn's radio experience is highlighted by her becoming the first full-time female sports anchor on a national radio network (ABC) in 1987. Currently, Cohn is the only female anchor of ESPN's "SportsCenter."

In her SU visit, Cohn will speak about broadcasting, sports broadcasting on one of America's most popular TV shows, and the role of Judaism in her life. A question-and-answer session will follow the lecture. Tickets, available at the Schine Box Office, are $3 for students and $6 for non-students.
