Producer and illustrator Matt Vescovo '91, self-proclaimed "Master of the Obvious," will speak at Syracuse University's Shemin Auditorium on Oct. 6 at 12:15 p.m. Shemin Auditorium is located in Shaffer Art Building. This event is free and open to the public.
Vescovo is the creator of "Instructoart," a series of animations that offer instructions for activities including dancing the hokey-pokey and telling the difference between cats and dogs. The animations have been commissioned into a series of promos for MTV. They premiered on MTV's 2003 Video Music Awards and are currently in rotation on the network.
Vescovo studied advertising design at SU's College of Visual and Performing Arts. Since graduating, he has worked in advertising as an art director. Vescovo is currently at work on the second installment of "Instructoart" animations.
His lecture is sponsored by the visual communications department in SU's School of Art and Design.
