The Syracuse University Symphony Band, conducted by Peter A. Acosta, will perform in the Rose and Jules R. Setnor Auditorium, Oct. 5 at 8 p.m. Setnor Auditorium is located in Crouse College. The performance is free and open to the public.
The program will include "Down a Country Lane" by Aaron Copland and "Gavorkna Fanfar" by Gordon Jacob.
The performance by the Symphony Band will be immediately followed by SU's Wind Ensemble, which will appear under the direction of Bradley P. Ethington.
The Wind Ensemble will perform "Festival Overture" by Dimitri Shostakovich and "Shakata Singing the Word into Existence" by Dana Wilson, professor of composition at Ithaca College.
