Syracuse University's Marshall Street Records is looking to record a full-length album for one local band or musician. The record company will accept submissions until Oct. 4. A decision will be made shortly thereafter as to which act will be signed and recorded this fall.

Marshall Street Records is a subsidiary label of Syracuse University Recordings (SUR), which was started in 1996. Since their inception, the labels have been student-run and have produced a unique variety of content each year.

Last spring's "Children @ Play" was Marshall Street's premiere release. The album showcased winners of a campus-wide talent search, performing original works in styles including pop, rock and funk. All SUR releases are available at the Syracuse University Bookstore and from vpa.syr.edu/sur/msr.

"With the first release from Marshall Street under our belt, we are very eager to find another great artist and help expose them to the university and surrounding communities," says Ian Fischer, a student representative of SUR.
