Bobbi Brown, CEO of Bobbi Brown Cosmetics, will present the next installment of the Genet Lecture Series at 3:30 p.m. March 8 in the Sue Ann Genet Auditorium, Room 108 of Slocum Hall. The lecture is free and open to the public.
Brown's fresh, natural style and modern yet classical approach to cosmetics has made her a beauty phenomenon and the makeup artist of choice of many top photographers, models and celebrities. A graduate of Emerson College in Boston, Brown has worked with fashion designers Bill Blass, Halston, Tommy Hilfiger, Oscar de la Renta and Donald Deal, creating the makeup looks to complement their collections. She also makes personal appearances at Bobbi Brown Essentials counters, sharing her techniques and giving beauty advice.
Brown founded Bobbi Brown Essentials in 1991 to provide women with realistic, natural-looking, easy-to-apply makeup. She began with a minimal investment and a few of her own lipsticks at Bergdorf Goodman in New York City. Today her products are sold around the world, and her company continues to grow.
She is the author of the best-selling books "Bobbi Brown Teenage Beauty" (Cliff Street Books, 2000) and "Bobbi Brown Beauty: The Ultimate Beauty Resource" (Harper Collins, 1997), and the beauty editor for NBC's "Today Show."
The Genet Lecture Series is sponsored by the College for Human Development in conjunction with the Genet Gallery for Costume, Textiles and Decorative Arts. The series brings nationally prominent men and women from retailing, fashion and design to speak at SU during the academic year.
