The Trademark Licensing Advisory Board (TLAB) is seeking a student representative to serve on the board. The TLAB advises Chancellor Kenneth A. Shaw on activities related to the protection, promotion and use of the Syracuse University name and trademarks on products in the marketplace. It also works to ensure that SU trademarks are used only on quality products printed with appropriate graphics so the image conveyed protects the name and reputation of the University. Board members also make recommendations to the Chancellor on relationships with manufacturers producing SU emblematic merchandise and monitoring bodies, including human rights and labor rights organizations.

The board is seeking a student that possesses excellent interpersonal and communications skills, and understands the opportunities and challenges involved in such an appointment. Qualified candidates must be full-time, matriculated SU or ESF students who are interested in participating in a collaborative environment that includes a productive and dynamic exchange of ideas with other members of the board, which includes SU faculty, students and staff members.

Interested applicants must include an outline of their academic and work history, an explanation of what prompted their interest in the position, and their anticipated contribution. Applications, addressed to the Search Committee of the Trademark Licensing Advisory Board, should be submitted on paper or electronically to The Office of Trademark Licensing, 303 University Place, Syracuse, NY 13244-2020, or to Betsy English at geenglis@syr.edu. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
