Resolution of the University Senate

September 12, 2001

Approved September 12, 2001



Whereas, the attacks of September 11, 2001, against the World Trade Center,

Pentagon, and people of America deeply shook and affected our community and

indeed the entire nation, and


Whereas, the incredible loss of life was tragically extended to include the emergency services workers who put their lives forth to rescue the innocent

victims of this attack, and



Whereas, hundreds of family members and friends of Syracuse University's

Faculty, Staff, Alumni, and Students work in the locations targeted for

these horrendous acts of violence, and



Whereas, Syracuse University knows all too well the pain inflicted by

terrorist acts and the loss of those who once walked among us.



Therefore, Be it Resolved, that the Syracuse University Community condemns these vicious attacks and joins in mourning the immense loss suffered by the people of this great

nation.
