Proposed by Andrew R. Thomson, Undergraduate Senator
Approved September 12, 2001
Whereas, the attacks of September 11, 2001, against the World Trade Center,
Pentagon, and people of America deeply shook and affected our community and
indeed the entire nation, and
Whereas, the incredible loss of life was tragically extended to include the emergency services workers who put their lives forth to rescue the innocent
victims of this attack, and
Whereas, hundreds of family members and friends of Syracuse University's
Faculty, Staff, Alumni, and Students work in the locations targeted for
these horrendous acts of violence, and
Whereas, Syracuse University knows all too well the pain inflicted by
terrorist acts and the loss of those who once walked among us.
Therefore, Be it Resolved, that the Syracuse University Community condemns these vicious attacks and joins in mourning the immense loss suffered by the people of this great
nation.
