Students are invited to attend "The Taste of Westcott," to be held Aug. 30 at 6:30 p.m. at the Westcott Community Center, 826 Euclid Ave. In addition to sampling food from restaurants in the Westcott Street area, students will have the opportunity to meet their new neighbors--both permanent community members and other students--as well as mingle with the key community people who can provide important resources. Students can also make contact with community organizations and learn ways to get involved in their new neighborhood.

The Syracuse University in the Community Program, operated through the University's Division of Student Affairs, assists SU and SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry students in making the transition to off-campus living. The program builds on the experiences of living in residence halls to encourage students moving off campus to take advantage of belonging to a larger and more diverse community.
