With assistance from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, a new edition of the "Legal Handbook for New York State Journalists," is now available for free on the Web at the New York State Bar Association's Web site, http://www.nysba.org/Legal.Handbook
"One of the advantages of the new online format is that we have been able to provide links to sites with additional information for users who want it. This handbook isn't a substitute for good legal advice from media counsel, but it does provide enough information so that reporters, news directors and editors will know the kinds of questions they ought to ask their lawyer, when in doubt," says State Bar President Kenneth G. Standard.
The latest edition, edited by Prof. Jay Wright, is published by the NYSBA in conjunction with the Newhouse School and the New York Newspaper Publishers Association.
