The Syracuse University Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of James Tapia, will present a concert on Feb. 21 at 8 p.m. in the Rose and Jules R. Setnor Auditorium in Crouse College. The concert is free and open to the public.
The concert will feature soprano Joanna Manring, a graduate student in the Rose, Jules R. and Stanford S. Setnor School of Music, College of Visual and Performing Arts. Manring, the 2003 Syracuse University Concerto and Aria Winner, will perform Samuel Barber's "Knoxville: Summer of 1915" with the orchestra. Other works to be featured are selections from Franz Schubert's Symphony no. 8 in B minor and a work by SU affiliate artist and composer Zhuang Liu called "Plum Blossom."
