On April 27, Syracuse University's Division of International Programs Abroad (DIPA) will host a formal high tea and discussion on British documentary filmmaker Carol Morley, her work and contemporary filmmaking. The discussion will be followed by a screening and discussion in the Sapphire Room in the E.S. Bird Library at 3:30 p.m.
Morely is one of the judges of the Syracuse International Film and Video Festival, which begins April 29. She was recently nominated for the BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts) award for Best New Director for her documentary, "Alcohol Years," which was produced by Channel 4 in England. Her other films include: "Everyday Something: True Stories From the 21st Century" and "Return Trip." Morley is also a professor in SU's DIPA program in London.

Light Work/Community Darkroom is planning an exhibition in conjunction with the film fest. The exhibition will feature a diverse sampling of fifty images created over the years for Point of Contact, a non-profit organization, located on the Syracuse University campus, dedicated to the exploration and exchange of ideas in the verbal and visual arts. The show opens April 26 and will remain open for viewing at the Light Work/Community Darkrooms Galleries through June 30.
