The world-renowned Paul Taylor Dance Company will perform at Syracuse University on April 27 at 7:30 p.m. in the Schine Student Center's Goldstein Auditorium.
Tickets are free to SU students, faculty and staff, and are now available at the Schine Box Office (two per SU I.D.). Tickets for the general public, which cost $5, will go on sale on April 19. For more information on tickets, contact the box office at 443-4517.

Paul Taylor has been called "the reigning master of modern dance" by Time magazine and "the best choreographer in the world" by the New York Daily News. A native of Washington, D.C., Taylor studied art and was a swimmer at SU in the late 1940s. He discovered dance and studied at the Juilliard School; by 1954, he had assembled a small company of dancers and presented his choreography.
Now in its 50th year, the Paul Taylor Dance Company is one of the world's most exquisite ensembles. The company has performed Taylor's works in more than 60 countries and 450 cities. It has represented the United States at arts festivals in more than 40 countries and has toured extensively under the aegis of the U.S. Department of State.
In June 1999 the company launched a two-year Cultural Capitals of the World Tour, which took it to Santiago, Cologne, Auckland, Macau, Jakarta, Paris, Frankfurt, Kingston, Santo Domingo, Stockholm, Bergen, Lyon, London, Rome, Montreal, Beijing and Shanghai, among other cities. The engagement in Chile
was named the Best International Dance Event of 1999 by the country's Art Critic's Circle. In the summer of 2001 the Company toured in The People's Republic of China and performed in six cities, four of which had never seen American modern dance before. In Spring 2003 the company mounted a four-week, seven-city tour of the United Kingdom. While continuing to garner international acclaim, the Paul Taylor Dance Company performs more than half of each touring season in cities throughout the United States. Boston and Durham host annual engagements during which audiences have the opportunity to see Taylor's newest works.
The company's Taylor 2 ensemble performed at various locations around the SU campus in March at the invitation of The College of Arts and Sciences.
