Diane Weathers, editor-in-chief of Essence Magazine, will present "The Lack of People of Color in Media," from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, April 22, at Lubin House in New York City. Weathers will be introduced by Charles Stevens, editor-at-large of Bloomberg Business News.
Weathers and Stevens are graduates of Syracuse University's S. I. Newhouse School of Public Communications. Weathers is a veteran reporter, writer and editor, working for such publications as Newsweek, Black Enterprise and Redbook. As a freelance writer, Weathers' has had articles appear publications including The New York Times, The Financial Times, Family Circle and several U.N. publications.
