The Judaic Studies Program in The College of Arts and Sciences will award the Joseph S. Kalina Prize to the three best essays by Syracuse University students on a Holocaust-related theme. The prizes carry cash awards.
Essays may treat any aspect of the Holocaust and its contemporary implications. Literary, philosophical, historical, sociological, ethical, theological, and psychological themes are appropriate; other multidisciplinary studies including creative writing projects will also be considered. Entries often originate as course papers.
Essays, which may vary in length from two to 15 pages, must be submitted by April 29. Send two copies to the Kalina Prize Contest, Judaic Studies Program, 514 Hall of Languages.
