Calvin William Sharpe, the John Deaver Drinko-Baker and Hostetler Professor at the Case Western Reserve University School of Law, will speak at Syracuse University's College of Law, April 19 at 4:30-5:30 p.m. The lecture, part of the College of Law's Endries Distinguished Public Lecture Series, will be held in 175 MacNaughton Hall.
Sharpe joined the CWRU law faculty in 1984 as an associate professor and was promoted to professor in 1988. Previously, Sharpe was assistant professor of law at the University of Virginia Law School and a visiting associate professor of law at Wake Forest University. He has also been a trial attorney for the National Labor Relations Board in Winston-Salem, N.C.; an associate in the Chicago law firm of Cotton, Watt, Jones, King and Bowlus; and a law clerk to U.S. District Court Judge Hubert L. Will in Chicago.
Sharpe holds a bachelor's degree in philosophy and religion from Clark College and a master's degree in philosophy and religion from Chicago Theological Seminary. He graduated from the Northwestern University School of Law in 1974.
