The Syracuse University Oratorio Society, under the direction of Elisa M. Dekaney, will perform two choral concerts with the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra (SSO) this weekend. "Ode to Joy!" will be presented April 15 and 16 at 8 p.m., in the Crouse-Hinds Concert Theater of the Mulroy Civic Center in Syracuse. The program includes Schoenberg's "Transfigured Night" and Beethoven's "Symphony No. 9-Ode to Joy," on which the SU Oratorio Society will be guest choir.
Under the direction of SSO music director Daniel Hege, the concert will feature vocalists Christina Pier, soprano; Eleni Matos, mezzo-soprano; John Aler, tenor; and Timothy LeFebvre, baritone. The concert is the final performance in the SSO's Classics Series.
