Beginning April 23, the Syracuse International Film and Video Festival (SIFVF) and its parent organization, Point of Contact, will co-host an art exhibit and film fashion program with the Everson Museum of Art.
In coordination with the celebration of Point of Contact's 30th year of publishing, the Everson will exhibit "Art of Point of Contact," a collection of contemporary art photography and works on paper created exclusively for the organization. The selected pieces are part of the wider collection of artwork published in Point of Contact's journals and book series over the past three decades. The exhibit runs through June 26. There will be an opening reception April 25 at 6 p.m., which is free and open to the public.
Following the reception, there will be a presentation at 7 p.m. in the Everson's Hosmer Auditorium on designing costume for film and a film costume show of selected pieces from the private collection of film historian Jim Loperfido, owner of Emerald City Video in Syracuse. Admission for the Film Fashion program is $10. The program is under special coordination from Susan Katz and Phyllis La Vine of La Vine Media and Marketing, Syracuse.
Point of Contact, Inc., is a non-profit organization dedicated to the exploration and exchange of ideas in the verbal and visual arts and to publishing, producing and documenting special events in collaboration with SU and a national and international artistic community.
