To celebrate the "Year of the American Composer," the Rose, Jules R. and Stanford S. Setnor School of Music in Syracuse University's College of Visual and Performing Arts will present the SU Women's Choir, April 22 at 8 p.m., in the Rose and Jules R. Setnor Auditorium, located in Crouse College. The concert, the ensemble's final performance of the semester, is free and open to the public. Parking is available in Irving Garage.
SU's all-female choir will appear under the direction of VPA affiliate artist Barbara Tagg. The program will feature works by North American composers Leonard Bernstein, Gregg Smith, Robert Harris, Eleanor Daley, Francisco Nu?ez and SU faculty member Sally Lamb. Nationally recognized a cappella ensemble The Mandarins, whose members are among the approximately 60 voices of the Women's Choir, will also be featured.
The SU Women's Choir is the largest choral ensemble in the School of Music, drawing from the undergraduate and graduate student populations.
