SU student to perform saxophone recital April 23

Amy Schumacher, a junior in Syracuse University's Rose, Jules R. and Stanford S. Setnor School of Music, will perform a saxophone recital, April 23 at 11 a.m. She will perform "Sonata in E Flat for Alto Saxophone" by P. Creston, "Elegie et Rondeau" by K. Husa, "Sonata for B Flat Tenor Saxophone" by J. DiPasquale, "Quartet for Reeds" by W.S. Hartley, "Quiet Time" by R. Caravan and "Suite en Si Mineur" by J.S. Bach.

Schumacher, a graduate of Liverpool High School, has been playing saxophone for 10 years. At SU, she is a music education major with performance honors and a member of the wind and saxophone ensembles, the international music fraternity Sigma Alpha Iota, and First Year Players, where she organizes and plays in the pit orchestra.

The concert will take place in the Rose and Jules R. Setnor Auditorium, located in Crouse College. It is free and open to the public. Parking is available in the Irving and University Avenue garages.
