Hip-hop phenomenon The Roots to perform April 12 at SU

University Union Concerts will present "Beats for Peace," a concert featuring Philadelphia-based live, hip-hop band The Roots, plus special guest opener Common, April 12 at 8 p.m. The concert will take place in Goldstein Auditorium, located in the Schine Student Center. Doors open at 7:15 p.m.

There will be 1,500 tickets available at the Schine Box Office. Tickets are $12 for students with SU or SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry I.D., and $25 for the general public. The Schine Box Office can be reached at (315) 443-4517.

"The 'Beats for Peace' concert was designed to promote tolerance and a sense of community through the use of music," says University Union Concerts co-chair Sherlen Archibald.
