Express CEO to speak at Syracuse University Feb. 15 as part of the Genet Lecture Series

Michael Weiss '62, president and CEO of Express, The Limited Inc.'s largest and most profitable women's apparel business, will speak on "Creating Brands at Retail" at 3:30 p.m. Feb. 15 in the Sue Ann Genet Auditorium, Room 108 of Syracuse University's Slocum Hall. The lecture, which is part of the College for Human Development's Genet Lecture Series, is free and open to the public.



Before joining The Limited Inc. in 1981, Weiss worked with Apparel Industries, Casual Corner and Abraham & Strauss. Weiss began his career with The Limited as the merchandise manager for an eight-store experimental division, which later became Express. He served as president of Express from 1982 until 1993 and returned to this position in 1997. Express is a lifestyle brand offering new fashions to young women. Express currently operates more than 680 stores and expects 2001 sales to top $1.7 billion.



Born in Brooklyn, Weiss holds a bachelor of arts degree from SU's College of Arts and Sciences.
