Syracuse University music students to present recitals in the Setnor Auditorium April 12

Students in Syracuse University's Rose, Jules R. and Stanford S. Setnor School of Music, College of Visual and Performing Arts will present recitals on April 12 at noon, 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. The recitals are free and open to the public.

Jaclyn Chisholm, a senior music industry major, will present a voice recital at noon. The recital will include works by Mozart, Schumann, Ray Noble, Burton Lane and Frank Wildhorn, among others. Chisholm is an active member of Groove Stand, Dance Works and the Hendricks Chapel Choir, and participated in the choir's Spring 2001 tour of Poland and the Czech Republic.

Allison Rock, a junior music education major, will present a voice recital at 2 p.m. Her selection will include works by Mozart, Schubert, Copeland and Baksa. Rock is the president of the SU student chapter of the American Choral Director's Association, a member of the University's Oratorio Society, Windjammer and Phi Eta Sigma.

A group of student musicians will perform an assortment of works composed by senior music composition major Stephen Bachicha at 5 p.m. The compositions include works for piano, woodwinds, strings, brass and voice. Bachicha will graduate in May with a degree in music composition and in selected studies, specializing in restaurant management and culinary arts.
