This Friday through Monday has been declared Orange Pride Weekend. SU fans are encouraged to wear orange apparel in a show of community pride.
And all Orangemen basketball supporters are invited to the Carrier Dome Saturday night to watch the SU-Texas NCAA men's semifinal game on three large screen projection televisions. Gates will open at 7:30 p.m. with tip-off tentatively scheduled for 8:47 p.m. EST. Tickets are $3 and may be purchased at the Dome Ticket Office and the Schine Student Center Box Office. Free parking is available in the West Campus (Stadium, Henry, Fine and Standart) lots.
The first 2,500 fans through the gates can pick up free "Let's Go Orange" Final Four placards. Several prizes will be given away. Final Four programs and official merchandise, and Dome food and beverages will be sold. No alcohol will be served.
WTVH-TV (Channel 5) and Citadel Communications are event cosponsors. Channel 5 anchors Maureen Green and Matt Mulcahy will do live, in-game news breaks from the Dome, and the 95X Boombox will be on hand.
Due to events in the Dome earlier on Saturday, the facility will not be set up in time to show the first semifinal game between Kansas and Marquette, which is scheduled to start at 6:07 p.m. EST. But the Dome will be ready by 7:30 p.m. to catch part of the game's second half and all of the SU-Texas game.
Should SU advance to the championship game on Monday, all ticket holders are invited back for the title game at no additional cost. Saturday's ticket holders must hang on to their ticket stub for admission to Monday's game.
