Africa is the subject of Feb. 11 Religion and Society Speakers Series installment at SU

Micere Mugo, professor of African American studies in Syracuse University's College of Arts and Sciences, will present "Religious War Zones in Neo-Colonial Urban Africa: Studies from Kampala and Nairobi" Feb. 11 at noon in the 1916 Room of E.S. Bird Library. The lecture, part of the Department of Religion's Religion and Society Speakers Series, is free and open to the public.

Mugo, a native of Kenya, has taught in Kenya and Zimbabwe. A poet, playwright and literary critic, she has taught at SU since 1993. She has published six books and one co-authored play.
