The School of Social Work in Syracuse University's College of Human Services and Health Professions will host a daylong workshop on "Financial Management for Not-for-Profits: Use of Financial, Business and Strategic Planning Principles in Operations," March 18 at the Goldstein Student Center on South Campus.

The workshop will provide a comprehensive view of financial management, building on basic understanding of budget development and subsequent financial management. Participants who attend will obtain an enhanced understanding of fiscal planning including annual and program budgeting profit and loss management, reporting mechanisms and internal controls.
Carl Coyle, CEO of Liberty Resources, will lead the workshop. Liberty Resources is a diversified human service organization that serves a varied disability-based population in Central New York. He is also CEO of MESA Inc., a related not-for-profit corporation that develops real property for special needs use.
The College of Human Services and Health Professions brings together Syracuse University's professional programs in Child and Family Studies, Marriage and Family Therapy, Nursing, Nutrition and Hospitality Management, and Social Work in an environment of cross-disciplinary teaching, research, practice and service. Through classroom learning and hands-on experience, students in the college are prepared for active and influential careers in the helping professions.
