Syracuse University's Rose, Jules R. and Sanford S. Setnor School of Music will host the critically acclaimed classical guitarist Joshua Millard, who will perform selections from J.K. Mertz, Roland Dyens, Joaquin Rodrigo and Ian Krouse on March 18 at 8 p.m. The concert will be held in the Rose and Jules R. Setnor Auditorium, located in Crouse College. The performance is free and open to the public with complimentary parking available in the Irving Garage.
Millard gave his first public performance at the age of five. Since then, his work has been hailed by critics as "truly stunning" and "a tremendous display of artistry." He has performed in Boston's historical King's Chapel, the Oberlin Conservatory and at the Eastman School of Music's Summer Guitar Festival. He has been a featured soloist with the Oberlin Contemporary Music Ensemble and the Dedalus New Music Ensemble.
Millard is a doctoral candidate at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, and he is on the faculty of Finger Lakes Community College in Canandaigua, N.Y.
