After several months of research and discussion among a large group of Syracuse University faculty, deans, administrators and students, The University Senate Committee on Budget and Fiscal Affairs is considering the budgeting model known as Responsibility Center Management (RCM). News stories about RCM appeared in the Feb. 21 and March 7 issues of the Syracuse Record, and the meetings were announced last week via Hotnews.
The Senate Budget Committee and RCM task force are seeking input from the campus community. Michael Wasylenko, RCM task force chair and senior associate dean in the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs, and Gerald Mager, professor of education and chair of the Senate Budget Committee, are hosting a series of town meetings-open to all students, faculty and staff-to answer questions about RCM and solicit feedback.
The first town meetings took place March 7-8. The final meeting will be held March 21 from 3:30 to 5 p.m. in Rooms 201 A-C of the Goldstein Student Center on South Campus.
