Audra Simpson, a fellow at Cornell University, will lecture at Syracuse University's College of Law, Feb. 26 at 4 p.m. in Room 104 of MacNaughton Hall, with a reception following in the Heritage Alumni Lounge of White Hall. Titled "The Racialized Life of Treaty: Mohawk Border Crossing, the International Boundary Line and Narratives of Citizenships Colliding," the free, public lecture will examine the cultural contours of citizenship and nationhood among Kahnawake Mohawks.
Simpson holds a Ph.D. in anthropology from McGill University and has been published in several journals, including "Political Theory and the Rights of Indigenous Peoples" and "IroquoisART: Contemporary Visual Expressions of Native American Artists."
