Herbert S. Shear, chairman and CEO of GENCO Supply Chain Solutions, is this year's recipient of the Salzberg Medallion presented by the Martin J. Whitman School of Management. Shear will be honored at the 54th Annual Harry E. Salzberg Memorial Program, April 1 at the Sheraton Syracuse University Hotel & Conference Center, next to the Whitman School of Management's new building on University Avenue.
The Salzberg Program was established in 1949 with a grant to SU by Murray M. Salzberg '37, in memory of his father's distinguished career in transportation. Salzberg Medallions are awarded to outstanding practitioners, advocates, academicians or researchers in the field of transportation, distribution and logistics management, and to companies for pioneering ideas and policies that have reshaped the industry.
