Syracuse University's Joe and Emily Lowe Art Gallery will present "Drawing Lives!" an exhibition of more than 150 works from a variety of sources including the University Art Collection; SU faculty and students; and student artists from Camillus Middle School, Cathedral School, Onondaga Road Elementary School, Stonehedge Elementary School, West Genesee Middle School and West Genesee High School. The exhibition runs Feb. 26-March 23 and is free and open to the public.
"Drawing Lives!" is curated by Bradley Hudson, adjunct professor in the School of Art and Design; and Michael Sickler, chair of the studio arts department. Associate curators include Jonathan Brower, adjunct professor in art foundation; Linda Daignault, adjunct professor in the graduate program in museum studies; and Laura Wellner, registrar for the University Art Collection.
There will be an opening reception in Shaffer Art Galleria on Feb. 26 at 4 p.m. On March 9, Michael Sickler will lead a panel discussion on drawing and its importance as a contemporary art form at 7 p.m. in Lowe Gallery.
The Joe and Emily Lowe Art Gallery is open Tuesday and Thursday-Sunday, noon-5 p.m., and Wednesday, noon-8 p.m. The gallery is closed on Mondays and is handicapped accessible. For more information, call (315) 443-3127.
