Renowned young architect Gregg Pasquarelli will lecture at Syracuse University's School of Architecture, Feb. 24 at 7:30 p.m. in 105 Link Hall. The event is free and open to the public.
Pasquarelli, the Louis I. Kahn Visiting Assistant Professor at Yale University's School of Architecture, is considered one of the most prominent young architects in the United States. He is a founding member of SHoP, an internationally recognized firm working with new digital technology. SHoP's projects include a footbridge at the World Trade Center site, a technologically inventive condominium complex and the Museum of Sex in New York City.
Titled "Versioning," Pasquarelli's lecture at SU will concentrate on the shift in the way architects use technology to expand the potential effects of design as they borrow tactics from film, food, finance, fashion, economics and politics.
Pasquarelli holds a bachelor's degree from Villanova University and graduated with a master's degree in architecture from Columbia University in 1994.
