Billy Joel and Elton John to perform in the Carrier Dome May 5; Tickets go on sale Feb. 3

January 31, 2001

Singers Billy Joel and Elton John will perform together live in the Carrier Dome May 5 as part of their "Face to Face" tour.

Tickets will go on sale to the general public Feb. 3 at 10 a.m. at the Carrier Dome Box Office, all Ticketmaster outlets, through Ticketmaster phone charge at (315) 472-0700, and online at ticketmaster.com. There is an eight-ticket limit per customer for general public sales. A convenience charge is added to each ticket purchased through Ticketmaster. No convenience charge is added to tickets purchased at the Carrier Dome Box Office.

Tickets for the general public are priced at $175.75 (limited quantity), $85.75 and $45.75 (the ticket price includes the $.75 City of Syracuse surcharge). The date, acts and ticket prices are subject to change without notice.

All Central New York area Ticketmaster outlets will utilize the Ticketmaster Random Number Distribution system for the ticket lines at their outlets on Feb. 3. Persons wishing to purchase tickets at any of the Central New York Ticketmaster outlets should show up at 9 a.m. on Feb. 3. No one will be permitted to camp out at any Ticketmaster outlet. Everyone in line at 9 a.m. has an equal chance of being first in line.

Distribution of wristbands for the Carrier Dome Box Office ticket sale line will begin on Jan. 31. Wristbands will be distributed at Gate A from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Jan. 31; 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 1; and 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 2, or until 1,000 wristbands have been distributed. The wristband does not guarantee a ticket, only a place in line. Persons seeking to obtain a wristband must be 12 or older and able to be in line unaccompanied. Everyone will have an equal chance to be first in line regardless of when they receive a wristband. Each person receiving a wristband will receive more detailed instructions concerning when to report to the Carrier Dome on Feb. 3, where to park and the "first in line" lottery process.

On Feb. 3, a drawing will be conducted from among all wristband wearers to determine who will be first in line for the ticket sale at the Dome Box Office. Everyone has an equal chance to be first in line or last in line. The line will continue to be formed behind the person randomly chosen to be first based upon the numeric sequence of wristbands. Persons without wristbands may line up behind those with wristbands and purchase tickets on a first-come, first-served basis.
