The Goldberg Couple and Family Therapy Center in Syracuse University's College of Human Services and Health Professions (HSHP) is offering a free "Couple Checkup" to members of the SU and local communities.

During the month of February, couples can visit one of the center's therapists for a three-session assessment of their relationship, in which couples will identify strengths in their relationships and areas for further development.

"The health of any relationship is based on good communications," says Anne Gosling, director of the Goldberg Center. "The Couple Checkup is one way couples can enhance their ability to communicate with each other. If there are problems, they can pinpoint the source of the problems. If there are issues one or both of them feel are important in their relationship, they can find ways to talk about those issues. If they wish to follow up, they can continue working on their relationship."

Located in Room 008 of SU's Slocum Hall, the Goldberg Center is operated by the Department of Marriage and Family Therapy in HSHP. Therapists are marriage and family therapy graduate and doctoral students under faculty supervision.
