Thomas G. Weiss, Presidential Professor of Political Science at The City University of New York's Graduate Center and director of the Ralph Bunche Institute for International Studies, will speak Feb. 19 from noon-1 p.m. in the Public Events Room, 220 Eggers Hall. His topic will be "Humanitarian Intervention: The Responsibility of Protect."
The lecture, part of the Conversations in Conflict Studies Lectures Series, is sponsored by the Program on the Analysis and Resolution of Conflicts. It is also part of the Ralph Bunche Centenary celebration. It is free and open to the public, and a buffet lunch will be provided.
Weiss is co-director of the UN Intellectual History Project, editor of Global Governance and research director of the International Commission on Intervention and State Sovereignty. He was executive director of the Academic Council on the UN System (ACUNS), and has also co-directed the Humanitarianism and War Project and served . as executive director of the International Peace Academy.
