Dana Levin will read from her works of poetry Feb. 14 in the next presentation of the Raymond Carver Reading Series. The reading starts at 5:45 p.m. in Huntington Beard Crouse Hall's Gifford Auditorium.
Levin is the author of a collection of poems, "In the Surgical Theatre" (American Poetry Review, 1999), that is the recipient of the American Poetry Review/Honickman First Book Prize. A 1998 Pushcart Prize Winner and a 1999 recipient of a National Endowment for the Arts fellowship, Levin has also received grants and awards from the Academy of American Poets, the Vermont Arts Council, the Vermont Studio Center, the Ucross Foundation and New York University.
Her poems have appeared in Ploughshares, Boston Review and American Poetry Review, as well as many other journals and magazines. She is an assistant professor of humanities at the College of Santa Fe in New Mexico.
