Award-winning pianist Fr. Sean Brett Duggan, O.S.B., will present a solo recital Feb. 1 at 8 p.m., as part of the Setnor Tuesday Night Concert Series. The performance will take place in the Rose and Jules R. Setnor Auditorium, located in Crouse College.

Fr. Duggan will perform the complete "Art of Fugue" by Johann Sebastian Bach, which includes four simple fugues, three stretto fugues, four combination fugues and two pairs of mirror fugues. The recital will conclude with a choral prelude arranged by Duggan.

A two-time winner of the J.S. Bach International Competition for pianists, Duggan has performed in recitals and with orchestras in the United States and abroad. In 2000, the 250th anniversary of Bach's death, Duggan performed the complete cycle of Bach's keyboard works, from memory, in a series of 15 recitals titled "Bach on the Threshold of Hope" in eight American and European cities.

Duggan, a Benedictine monk, just completed a three-year visiting professorship at the University of Michigan. He is currently a piano faculty member at the State University of New York at Fredonia.

The recital is free and open to the public. Parking is available in the Irving Garage.
