The Syracuse University Tsunami Disaster Relief Fund, established days after a tsunami devastated several countries in the Indian Ocean region on Dec. 26, 2004, has garnered $55,872.88 as of today.

The total includes funds raised at a Jan. 8 SU men's basketball game; at a Jan. 21 vigil organized by Hendricks Chapel, the Slutzker Center for International Services and international students; and donations sent directly to Hendricks Chapel. The money is being forwarded to the American Red Cross to aid its disaster relief efforts.

Individuals who wish to contribute to the fund may send checks to Hendricks Chapel, Syracuse University, Syracuse, NY, 13244. Checks may be made payable to Hendricks Chapel, and donors should clearly designate on the memo line that the donation is for the "SU Tsunami Disaster Relief Fund."
