The Raymond Carver Reading Series begins this semester with a fiction reading by noted author and cartoonist Lynda Barry on Jan. 29. The reading starts at 5:45 p.m. in the Gifford Auditorium in Huntington Beard Crouse Hall. The event is free and open to the public.
Barry is the author of two novels, "Cruddy" (1999) and "The Good Times Are Killing Me." (1997). Once a commentator for National Public Radio, Barry is also the creator of the nationally syndicated "Ernie Pook's Comeek" comic strip and has published several collections of her comics, including "One Hundred Demons" (2002) and "Everything in the World" (1986).
