Syracuse University's Creative Writing Program to host Nov. 20 reading to benefit the Food Bank of CNY

The faculty and students of the Master of Fine Arts Program in Creative Writing in Syracuse University's College of Arts and Sciences will hold a reading to benefit the Food Bank of Central New York on Nov. 20. The event will be held from 5:45-7 p.m. in Maxwell Auditorium, located in Maxwell Hall.

Poets and fiction writers will each read one piece of original fiction or
poetry. Faculty readers will include Mary Karr, Brooks Haxton, Chris
Kennedy, Bob O?Connor, Arthur Flowers and Bruce Smith. Anne Lilly Hrynyk of the Food Bank of CNY will introduce the event and talk about hunger relief work.

The event, which will be emceed by Smith and Karr, is open to the campus and Greater Syracuse community. Free-will donations will be accepted, with proceeds going to the Food Bank of CNY. The suggested donation for students is $5.

The Food Bank of CNY serves 11 counties and makes possible more than 8 million meals a year.
