Film director Martin Scorsese, who was scheduled to speak as part of the spring 2004 lineup of Syracuse University's University Lectures series, has cancelled his planned visit to Syracuse.
According to Scorsese's booking agency, the cancellation results from a scheduling conflict with his work on a Howard Hughes biopic, Bob Dylan documentary, and other film and book projects. Scorsese's representatives and SU's Office of University Lectures have both expressed interest in rescheduling his appearance.
Other University Lectures events will continue as planned, starting with Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Feb. 5 at 7:30 p.m. in Hendricks Chapel.
