  • Deadlines

    To file an application
Many programs have specific deadlines. See the Program Requirements specific to your school for more information. To have priority consideration for assistantships, fellowships, and other opportunities you¿ll want to submit your application as early as possible. It is your responsibility to ensure that all application materials arrive at Syracuse by any applicable deadlines.

    Merit-based support
Students applying for graduate awards are urged to submit complete admission applications as early as possible. Again, early applications are placed in the best position, although deadlines do vary, You should consult specific deadlines for merit-based and need-based awards in the individual applications.

A limited number of awards are available, and late applicants will be considered only if funds and appointments remain. All parts of the application package must be received by the University to be considered. See individual program applications or contact the program to which you¿re applying for specific deadlines and other special requirements.

    Financial Aid
If you are a U.S. citizens or Permanent Resident, you must first file a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as soon as possible after January 1. Do not wait for an admission decision before filing. A FAFSA form may be obtained directly from the U.S. Department of Education website www.fafsa.ed.gov. See financialaid.syr.edu for complete details.
