Syracuse University is situated on 200 acres on a hilltop overlooking downtown Syracuse; the main campus has 170 buildings. The campus is centered around a main quadrangle, often referred to as "the Quad." The 20 residence halls form the outer rim of campus. Students easily walk to class which usually takes 5-10 minutes.
Syracuse is home to 11,800 undergraduate and 5,000 graduate students.
SU undergraduate students come from all 50 states and more than 100 countries. About 41 percent are from New York State. Nearly 54 percent come to Syracuse from the other 49 states. Approximately 5 percent of our students come from other countries.
More than 20 percent of undergraduate enrollment is comprised of historically underrepresented students.
The male to female ratio is nearly evenly distributed at 45 percent to 55 percent.
