Admission Requirements

To be considered for admission to Syracuse University, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Be enrolled in, or have graduated from, an accredited secondary school. (To learn more about the University's home-schooling requirements, contact the Office of Admissions at 315-443-3611.)
  • We recommend taking a college preparatory curriculum, including four years each of English, science, social studies and mathematics (through geometry and intermediate algebra) and a minimum of three years of a foreign language.
  • While not required, you may have an interview with a representative of the Office of Admissions. You may schedule appointments Monday through Friday on campus or at our Metropolitan New York Office of Admissions in Manhattan. We also conduct interviews in metropolitan areas across the country.
  • Admission to Syracuse University is contingent upon graduation from secondary school and a continued record of good citizenship and character. You must provide a final secondary school transcript after graduation by July 31, prior to the fall semester.
